This week's mini rant

This whole US Women's goalie change has me cracking up. The coach Greg Ryan has the nerve to sit the American's best goalie Hope Solo, great name by the way. Anyways, the rub here is how many chances do American women soccer players get chances to play in truly big games, that warrant national coverage. Maybe the Olympics every 4 years? Basically it's the World Cup or bust. So in the World Cup Semi Finals, she should be happy and not disgruntled that she got pulled for an over the hill goalie, who supposedly matches up better? Solo wasn't scored on in her last 300 minutes. That's pretty impressive. I agree with her, she was upset and rightfully so. Her one shining moment was taken away. She didn't get her chance. This isn't TO crying for the ball. This isn't Tiki Barber announcing his retirement in the middle of the season. Ruining what little chance the Giants had of advancing to the Super Bowl. Not only that, but that these comments from her right after the game. When she is going to be most upset.

Now her teammates are upset at her. She won't be at the third place game. It's funny because instead of being mad at her. They should be mad at their coach. Because he cost them a chance for glory. She just spoke the truth. She feels she could have stopped those shots. Maybe she could have. Maybe she wouldn't. But the reason we will never know is not Solo's fault. It's the coach's. She was robbed of her opportunity for greatness. Her teammates were robbed of the same thing and the sooner they realize that. The better off they'll be.

This week's mini rant. Don't you think people are making too big of deal at of this spy gate stuff? I mean really, Do you think Belichek can break down signals at halftime to let Tom Brady know what defense they are running? That's how Brady won three Super Bowls, by having the exam before hand. So what you are telling me is the Jets didn't have any new signals since the last time they played? If that is truly the case. Shame on the Jets. They should change them for every game. I don't believe there's an advantage. The penalty was sufficent. A first round pick is a steep price. No matter what you say. No matter that they hoard them and had two this year. You shouldn't change the just penalty because New England found a way to have two this year. You need most of your first round picks to be successful players. You can miss on some. But mostly they need to be goood players or your depth gets eaten away at. I think Goodell got this one right.
Last week I was 9-5-2 against the number. Onto another hopefully successful week
